Wep Ronpet - Kemetic New Year

For us of this faith it is a time of year which is well-known for changes and chaos. Things happen, things change, and one should be careful. The five intercalary - epagomenal - days were days when the people of Kemet would not go out very much, since the chuildren born by Nut on these days were the Children of Chaos, born against the wishes of Ra during five days which Nut, with the help of Djehuty, had managed to gain from Ra.

I happen to be a child of Nut and Set, so this is a very special occasion for me. This morning, upon surfing the net, I got the urge to write this little story... a free approach at the occurrences between the years, and not in all respects true to the book, yet still this is how I pay hommage to the Names and the cycle of the year, which will eventually be renewed at Wep Ronpet.

When the sun rises, we will see a brand new year, shining, fresh, new-born like the Children of Nut, in the glow of a new sun, under the benevolent eyes of Ra.
